Project Description

Fast, Accurate Results

At College Animal Hospital we maintain a full in-hospital laboratory, along with state-of-the-art digital X-ray.
Laboratory testing gives us an opportunity to gain a view inside your pet’s body in order to assess overall systemic health without the need for invasive and expensive procedures. This allows us to get information on your pet’s organ function, skin infections, masses, and screen for intestinal parasites with fast results.

At College Animal Hospital we can regularly test your pet during wellness exams or during an emergency when your pet is sick while you wait.

For example:

Are the kidneys and liver values elevated ? Is your pet anemic? Is your pet diabetic ?
Does your pet have internal parasites? heart worm disease ?
What type of skin infection does your pet have?
Does your pet have a urinary tract infection?
What type of mass is on your pet’s skin?

Generally, we can have results within 15-20 minutes for the following tests during your visit.

  • Blood chemistry
    • Liver and kidney function, blood sugar, etc
  • Electrolytes
    • Sodium, potassium, chloride
  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)
    • Red and white blood cells, platelets
    • Monitor for anemia
  • Urinalysis
  • Clotting function
  • Fecal exams to look for intestinal parasites
  • Heartworm & tick testing
  • Feline Leukemia and FIV testing
  • Microscope analysis of:
    • Tumors and mass aspirates
    • Skin and ear infections

“The new vet, Dr. Erin Rose, is fabulous, and the rest of the staff is great as always! The staff immediately let us into the examination room. The staff was so good with my dogs, managing to get their weights, temps, and determine specific concerns. She showed genuine caring and considerable expertise. Dr. Rose determined that my one-eyed, straight-outta-Compton maltese mix, Odin, has a significant heart murmur, and she provided a good course for a more significant diagnosis and possible treatment. High fives all around for Dr. Rose and the excellent staff at College Animal Hospital!”
